FRESHMAN BEN CAVANAUGH LEADS JUNIOR VARSITY BOWLING IN FIRST LEAGUE WIN OVER SOLON
On Monday night, the Junior Varsity Bowling team scored their first victory of the season over Solon 1400-1272 at AMF Riviera Lanes. The Freshmen took charge for the Hornets, who led after individual games 1117 (569-548) to the Comet's 979 (505-474) and never looked back. Highland 283 (99-99-85) kept pace with Solon's 293 (111-94-88) in the Bakers to secure the victory.
Freshman Ben Cavanaugh led the team with a 274 (140-134), rolling 5 strikes in his 140 game, which was the high game among both JV teams.
Freshman Logan DeVoe was next for the winning cause with a 238 (124-114).
Freshman Mason Everly notched a 200 (117-83).
Sophomores Geo Kerechanin 110 and Aiden Kenner 107 added to the Hornets' victory.
Junior Chase Stastny 98 and Freshman Connor Skomski 90 also contributed to the W. Thanks to Stastny, this victory secured the privilege for the squad to munch on some snacks during their next practice, a rule that isn't relaxed often. Great work team!
The JV Bowling team will travel to Roseland Lanes on Wednesday to take on the Twinsburg Tigers.
