FRESHMAN BEN CAVANAUGH LEADS JUNIOR VARSITY BOWLING IN WADSWORTH MATCH
On Tuesday evening, the Junior Varsity Bowling team fell to Wadsworth 1561-1712 at AMF Riviera Lanes. The Grizzlies jumped out to a 1340 (715-625) to 1193 (567-626) lead after the two individual games. The Hornets did not give up, cutting into the lead with their first Baker game, but to no avail, ending the round with a 368 (174-88-106) to Wadsworth's 372 (156-106-110).
Highland was paced by Freshman Ben Cavanaugh 269 (140-129), logging 4 strikes in the first game.
Senior Aubrey Seiberling followed with an impressive 257 series (124-133), including 3 strikes and 2 spares in her final 6 frames.
Sophomore Geo Kerechanin bowled a 142, the Hornets' high game of the night, starting off strong with a Double.
Freshmen Logan DeVoe 121, Mason Everly 111 and Connor Skomski 111 followed, with Junior Chase Stastny 97 and Sophomore Aiden Kenner 85 rounding out Highland's efforts.
The Baker round was highlighted by DeVoe's turkey in the 10th frame to close out the first game with a 174, the season high. Next on tap for the Hornets is their first tournament, the Nordonia Knights JV Invitational, on December 20th at North Woods Lanes.
